Located in the Radhanagari region on the Dudhaganga river, Kalammawadi Dam is one of the major dams of Kolhapur district. It offers large reservoir views, peaceful surroundings and is great for leisurely outings and photography, especially for guests who love wide water bodies and quiet places.

Savarde is a village on the edge of the sanctuary and a known hotspot for bird watching. Over 235 species have been recorded in the region, including the Great Hornbill, Nilgiri Wood-Pigeon and many other forest birds. Sunrise and early mornings are the best time to visit, when the forest is alive with calls and cool misty air.
